Usually, the face-to-face work is complemented with telephone, email and other methodology appropriate to the situation. Various names abound for types of coaching. There is performance coaching, developmental coaching, application and integration coaching, etc. Those are all good ways to label and identify coaching objectives. There's nothing wrong with those labels, but what it all boils down to, is helping individuals and teams become better leaders.
