Coaching

One of your fundamental responsibilities as a leader is to coach and develop the people on your team.  Followers look to their leaders for direction, so in reality, you are already a coach.  The question is, how good are you doing?

We understand how busy you are, and coaching takes time.  In this seminar, we introduce the idea of coaching in a quick and totally practical way.  We look at how to inspire, encourage, and challenge your team.

This seminar is often combined with the Fundamentals of Motivation seminar to make an eight-hour "Motivation and Coaching" course.  This allows potential coaches to gain a basic knowledge of human motivation, an essential element for effective coaching.

Organizations making a serious commitment to coaching, should review our four-day Coaching, Communications, and Change Course (CCCC).

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the benefits of coaching
  • Distinguish between coaching, counseling, and training, and the situations in which they should be used
  • Identify the characteristics and skills of effective coaches
  • Evaluate your readiness to coach
  • Role-play a coaching scenario in front of a group
  • Prepare a back-at-work action plan
This is a four-hour introductory level seminar.
