Values-Based Team-Building    

Every human interaction is a leadership interaction.  When dealing with Direct Reports, interactions are examples of formal leadership.  When dealing with other than Direct Reports, the same interactions are informal leadership.  Thus, we are all leaders, either formal or informal.

The interactions we have with other people are either inspiring or discouraging.  Our interactions either help or hinder others in their attempts to do their best.  Effective leadership inspires others to do their best.  Effective leadership builds good teamwork.  Good teamwork produces superior results.  Both effective leadership and good teamwork are grounded in values-based behavior.

The Values-Based Team-Building program helps organizations produce superior teams by encouraging a culture that promotes values-based behavior in all team members.

Learning Objectives

  • Define Team Work
  • State the importance of having core values to guide our behavior
  • Describe how Enabling Values relate to Core Values
  • Explain how your values exhibit themselves in your behavior
  • Identify which Enabling Values are your strengths
  • Identify which Enabling Values you need to improve upon the most
  • State the importance of self-awareness
  • State the importance of focusing on behavior
  • Identify a wide range of behavioral differences among people
  • Describe what teams or groups have to do to work together more effectively
  • Identify Enabling Values most needing improvement in your work environment
  • Expand your appreciation of, and respect for, individual dignity and worth
  • Identify potential areas of conflict, and gain insights to achieve positive resolution
  • Prepare a back-at-work action plan
This is a four to eight-hour seminar.  The length depends upon specific customer objectives.
