SEMINARS

Documenting Discipline

Documenting discipline is one of the most important leadership tasks you will ever undertake.  With proper documentation, you greatly increase the chances of an employee correcting a work-related problem.

This seminar will show you how to use progressive discipline as an effective tool for changing behavior.  The focus is on your responsibility as a supervisor to help employees understand and correct workplace problems.  Good documentation will also show that you have met the seven tests of just cause.

This seminar is often combined with the "Effective Discipline:  The Seven Tests of Just Cause" seminar to make an eight-hour course.  Together, they provide the tools necessary to ensure your progressive discipline is effective.

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize the characteristics of good documentation
  • Explain the importance of proper documentation and the effect on the organization
  • Explain the key points of FOSA
  • Document a given scenario using the FOSA principles
  • Prepare a back-at-work action plan
This is a four-hour seminar.
